HEMATITE

 

 

GEOLOGICAL

Hematite is the most important ore of iron. It is also used as a pigmemt & as a polishing powder.

The name is deruved from the Greek word for ‘blood’ as this is the colour of powdered Hematite.

Hematite is steel-grey to black, sometimes iridescent, opaque with a reddish brown streak which is more apparent in its massive raw form.

It can be found in Britain, Italy, Brazil, Sweden, Canada & Switzerland.

Hematite is particularly effective at grounding & protecting.

It harmonises mind, body & spirit.
