CitrinE

GEOLOGICAL

Derived from the French word ‘citron’ meaning ‘lemon’.

A golden yellow form of Quartz, it is found in proximity to Amethyst as slow heating of Amethyst turns it into Citrine.

Colours range from pale yellow to Madeira red, named after the wine.

The yellow colour is because of the presence of iron. The deeper the colour, the more iron present.

FOLKLORE & LEGEND

Citrine used to be worn as a talisman against the plague, bad skin, evil thoughts, snake bites and bites from venomous reptiles.

The first use of Citrine seems to have been by the Romans, around the 1st century BC.

HEALING

Citrine carries the power of the sun and never needs cleaning.

It absorbs, transmutes, dissipates and grounds negative energies, making this a powerfully protective stone for the environment.

It is an aura cleanser and has the ability to cleanse the chakras, especially of the navel and solar plexus. It also activates the crown chakra.

Citrine is said to relieve depression as it has a warming effect helping to dispel nerves, constipation and diabetes.

It can aid in digestive troubles.

It helps to dispel deep rooted fears and light even the darkest corners of the mind and psyche.

Citrine is a stone of abundance and attracts wealth and prosperity.
